SPIRITUAL WAR FOR THE NATIONS

God Deals With Nations.

A nation is simply “a group of people who have come together for civil law”.

The Bible is clear that God deals with nations as entities. Psalm 33:12 “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD…” Psalm 9:17 “The wicked shall be turned into hell and all the nations that forget God.” Proverbs 14:34 “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people."

Nations take on an identity based on their corporate decisions, the nature of their laws, how they treat one another, and whether they “remember” God. Each nation is blessed or punished accordingly.

We Can Influence Our Nation

As Christians, we must care about the affairs of state, because we live here! Our children are going to live here, our grandchildren, friends and neighbors, too! We really don’t have the luxury of saying that it’s not our place to get involved in government. We must be involved!

As Americans, we did not inherit a nation of monarchs or tyrants, but a nation OF the people, FOR the people and BY the people. WE are the people. What a privilege! After 5000 years of nations being generally run by brutal kings and selfish dictators, we live in the one nation that was designed to be run by the people!

Satan Attacks Nations

Satan is well aware of the Biblical principles set forth for nations. He will do everything in his power to destroy religious freedom and stop God’s message from being proclaimed.

He has tried to deceive man from the very beginning, to turn him away from God and enslave him mentally and spiritually. In Revelation 20:3 and 8, Satan is described as the one who deceived the nations. He knows by deceiving a nation corporately, he is affecting many children, teens, and young adults who are growing up in that culture. He seeks to blind "the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” (II Corinthians 4:4) We can clearly see Satan’s fingerprints on the pages of history, and we know that this will continue until Revelation chapter 20.

America, The Exception

America's founders came specifically to find religious freedom. They were escaping the political tyranny of an oppressive king, but even more, his religious tyranny. They wanted to worship God freely, without the government telling them how and when and where they could do it!

They went on to establish a system of government built on the promise of freedom. They considered the freedom of religion to be the most sacred of their rights, which should be protected by human government.

Freedom of religion is precisely what tyrants through the ages have hated, perhaps more than anything else. It is that one area they can’t get their hands on. Jesus said to render unto Ceasar the things that are Ceasar’s and to God the things that are God’s. Ceasar tends to think that it should ALL belong to him! This has become a great problem through the ages, especially since Ceasar has the power of the sword.

God Blessed America

Because America was founded primarily as a nation that sought the blessing and favor of God, and guaranteed religious freedom to it’s citizens, America was blessed. Undeniably, America has become an example and an influence to this world like no other Gentile nation.

America’s Future

We find ourselves, now, in the spiritual struggle for the soul of this nation. Alive and well is the enemy of freedom, which is the enemy of truth (John 8:32), which is ultimately the enemy of God. This enemy is organized, motivated, strong, multifaceted, and prevalent.

We will either engage this enemy, through prayer, education, and every available means, or we will find that this great nation, once a champion of religious freedom and the individual, is only a memory.

May we, having done all, stand.
